The Pit Gearing Up for 2011 Mud Bog Season

Jamaica, VA – It won’t be long before hundreds of competitors and thousands of excited fans will converge on The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway for the first of two Mud Bogs presented by The Virginia Army National Guard and Rappahannock Tractor scheduled for 2011. Saturday June 18th will launch The Pit season with the 7th Annual Run A Muck scheduled for Saturday Oct. 1st.

The Pit at VMS features state of the art 200-foot Mud Bog and Mud Sling pits. There will be seven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from street to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes.

Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200 foot Mud Bog pit at both events but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the regions best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds.

Gates and registration will open at 9am with Single Eliminations for Stock A, B; Modified A, B, C along with X, XX and Unlimited Bog classes beginning at 12 noon. Registration and inspection for Stock, Modified and Unlimited Bog classes ends at 11:30pm with X and XX Unlimited ending at 1pm. Rules for each class are now available at the speedway’s website www.vamotorspeedway.com.

Admission for the 6th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling is Adults – $12, Children 7 – 17 years old – $10 and Children 6 and under FREE.

Competitors should visit www.thepitatvms.com to print off draw sheets and driver information sheets that must be filled out before going through for inspection.

The Pit at VMS is located on the grounds of Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway and is situated on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA. The Speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
