Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature tried to dampen the spirits of those in attendance with cold and rainy weather for 10th Annual Down & Dirty Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, the Virginia National Guard and RedNex Sporting at The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway, but everyone in attendance was treated to one of the best shows in the ten year history of the facility. The event was also sponsored by Monster Energy Drinks, Kalbones Speed Shop & Offroad, Aaron’s, Collision One, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, ORI of Richmond and Truckin Thunder.

The great crowd was treated to some great action in both the mud bog and mud sling pits as Ray Atkins of King William, VA in Haulin Gas set a new division track record in the Monster Energy Pro Mod B class with a 4.246 second pass and Chris Newton of Chesapeake, VA in Hostile Projectile set a new division track record in the Virginia Army National Guard XX-Paddle class with a pass of 2.263 seconds, breaking his own record that had stood since 2011.

92 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 218 registered passes.

Winners in each class: Super Stock A – Neil McClanan of Moyock, NC in Never Enough; Super Stock B – Neil McClanan of Moyock, NC in Never Enough; Modified A – Chris Fifer of Altavista, VA in Swamp Rat; Modified B – Brian Vick of Moyock, NC in Pic Pocket; Pro Mod A – George Johnson of Hayes, VA in Gold Digger; Pro Mod B – Ray Atkins of King William, VA in Haulin Gas; Unlimited Bog – Daniel Davis of Petersburg, VA – Mr. Nasty Time; X Class – Chris Newton of Chesapeake, VA in Hostile Projectile; and XX Class – Chris Newton of Chesapeake, VA in Hostile Projectile.

For the second time the Atkins Petroleum & Propane “King of the Hill” Double Down Bonus was offered for anyone that could win both the A & B classes in the Super Stock, Modified and Pro Mod divisions. Neil McClanan of Moyock, NC in Never Enough was able to take home the $500 bonus by winning both classes in the Super Stock division.
