BIGGEST MUD BOG IN THE HISTORY OF THE PIT COMING SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2

Jamaica, VA – The biggest mud bog in The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway’s history is set for Saturday, October 2nd, and to say that officials are excited and anxiously awaiting the running of the 17th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by Atlantic Broadband and WhosYourDriver.org would be an understatement. The competitors are all ready to let it all hang out and showcase some of the best mud bogging on the East Coast in front of the cameras of MAVTV. MAVTV will be on hand to film the day’s events for up to four (4) Lucas Oil On the Edge shows. This will give our competitors a chance to show their stuff in front of a national audience. That means we need to have you the fan in attendance to show the rest of the world that mud bogging in Virginia is King. There will be eleven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com for the rules packages and payouts. The Unlimited X Tractor and Obstacle X divisions will once again run a short course for time. Plans are to make a few changes to the course before October 2nd. Officials are working on a huge purse for the mega truck portion of the event to attract some of the biggest names in the business to The Pit. Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200 foot Mud Bog pit but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the region’s best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. Gates and registration will open at 9 AM with single eliminations for Super Stock A, B; Modified A (Small tire), B (Big Tire), Unlimited Bog, Unlimited X Tractor, Pro Modified A, Pro Modified B, and X, XX classes beginning at noon. Jamaica, VA – After a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway swung open the gates for the 12th Annual Mud Mayhem Mud Bog presented by Atlantic Broadband and WhosYourDriver.org and welcomed back a great crowd and truck count this past Saturday, May 1. The event was also sponsored by Virginia is for Racing Lovers (VA Tourism), Northern Neck Chevrolet, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, Gary’s Transmission, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, and Truckin Thunder. The enthusiastic crowd witnessed some incredible runs in both the mud bog and mud sling pits. In what was one of the fastest events in the history at the state-of-the-art facility, the Kelly O’Dell Sling Pit for the mud dragsters did not disappoint as it produced multiple track records. When the day was done, three-division track records were broken in spectacular fashion. In the WhosYourDriver.org X-Cut dragster division Palmer in The Show, set a new track record with a run of 1.990 seconds, breaking a record held by the late Kelly O’Dell that was set back in 2015. Also, in the WhosYourDriver.org X-Cut division, Travis shoemaker in Highroller 4 broke his own X-Cut Injector track record with a run of 2.008 seconds. And in the Victory Lap XX-Paddle Injector dragster division Keith Mitchell in The Magician set a new track record with a run of 2.045 seconds, lowering the record set by Travis Shoemaker in 2019. Overall, 76 different competitors took turns at the state-of-the-art 200-foot pit for a total of 160 registered passes. The 17th annual Mud Mayhem will be held on Saturday, May 1, which is two weeks earlier than in previous years. The Run-A-Muck Mud Bog will once again be on the first Saturday of October, which is October 2. The Cameras of MAVtv will be on hand to film for two Lucas Oil On The Edge shows. “After such a terrible 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are excited to be getting back to hosting mud bogs. We wanted to make sure our competitors and fans could mark their calendars for 2021 and be ready for what is going to be another great year of mud bogging,” commented track GM Clarke Sawyer. Trey Moody set the only track record in the Pro Mod A division with a 4.095 second run, breaking a record that had stood since 2015, he picked up a $100 bonus in Tadpoles Break the Record Challenge presented by E&E Caulking. Two drivers won the Atkins Propane King of the Hill Double down bonus by winning both divisions in their class. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hit the Trifecta this past Saturday with great weather, a huge crowd and an overflowing pit full of competitors for the 14th Annual Down and Dirty Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment and Who’sYourDriver.org. The event was also sponsored by Aaron’s, Northern Neck Chevrolet, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, Gary’s Transmission and Truckin Thunder. Winners in each class: Super Stock A and B – Mike Braswell in Braswell Construction; Modified A and B – Charlie Wood in Mudweiser; Pro Mod A and B – Trey Moody in That P.O.S.; Unlimited Bog – Denny Kerley in Rowdy Snoot in Rowdy Snoot; Unlimited X Tractor – Leslie Anderson in Mud Slay; Obstacle X – Ray Atkins in Haulin’ Gas; X Cut Dragster – Paul Palmer in The Show; XX Paddle Dragster – Dale Ellenberger in Touch of Madness. The Atkins Petroleum & Propane “King of the Hill” Double Down Bonus was offered again to anyone that could win both the A & B classes in the Super Stock, Modified or Pro Mod divisions.
