10TH Annual Run A Muck Mud Bog, Mud Sling Coming Oct. 11th to The Pit

Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway will host the 10th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog, Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, RedNex Sporting Goods and The Virginia Army National Guard Saturday October 11th featuring a state of the art 200-foot Mud Bog and Mud Sling pits. Additional sponsorship provided by Kalbones Speed Shop and Off Road, Monster Energy Drinks, After Hours Fabrication, ORI of Richmond, Collision One and Truckin Thunder. There will be nine classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the “Twin” 200 foot Mud Bog pits but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the regions best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. The event will also include a car crushing monster truck freestyle show by Steve Sims in Stone Crusher and Maxey Broadus in Walking Tall. Gates and registration will open at 9am with Single Eliminations for Super Stock A, B; Modified A (Small tire), B (Big Tire), Unlimited Bog, Pro Modified A, Pro Modified B and X, XX classes beginning at 12 noon. Registration and inspection for all classes ends at 11:30pm. Rules for each class are now available at the speedway’s website www.vamotorspeedway.com. Admission for the 10th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog, Mud Sling and Truck Show is Adults – $15, Children 13 – 17 years old – $10 and Children 12 and under FREE with paying adult. Competitors should visit www.thepitatvms.com to print off draw sheets and driver information sheets that must be filled out before going through for inspection. The Pit at VMS is located on the grounds of Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway and is situated on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hosted the 6th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Rappahannock Tractor, Virginia Army National Guard and in part by Davis Offroad, Monster Energy Drink and ORI of Richmond this past Saturday October 2nd to a large and enthusiastic crowd. The event also boasted another large field of competitors featuring not only some of the areas top mud trucks in a very tough mud pit but also the very popular 1500 horsepower mud dragsters in the mud sling pit. If that wasn’t enough the fans were also treated to an awesome monster truck freestyle show by Stone Crusher and Mopar Magic. Fans were also were able to take a ride on the Stone Crusher ride along truck. The perfect temperatures and sunny skies provided a tremendous day for mud bogging. Overall 104 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 190 total passes. Winners in each class: Stock A – George Johnson in Gold Digger 2; Stock B – Leslie Newbern in Dragon Fly; Modified A – Kenny Crowder in Mr. Nasty Time; Modified B – Joe Parnell in Blue Demon; Modified C – Joe Parnell in Blue Demon; Unlimited Bog – Joe Parnell in Blue Demon; X Class – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile; and XX Class – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile. In his first time to the The Pit at VMS Joe Parnell driving Blue Demon set new track records in the Mod B, Mod C and Unlimited Bog divisions. His 3.997 second run in the Unlimited Bog division was the first sub four second run in the 200 foot pit.
