Jamaica, VA – The first of two mud bogs for the 2024 season is scheduled for today Saturday, May 18 as The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hosts the 14th annual Mud Mayhem presented by Breezeline and WhosYourDriver.org. The event will feature the competitors of the Premier Mega Truck Racing Series in head-to-head, no time clock racing and is RAIN OR SHINE. Also, scheduled are the Super Stock, pro Stock, Modified, and Pro Mod divisions running the very challenging hill and hole mud pit. There will also be two divisions of Kid’s Power Wheels for the young mudders that are 10 years of age and under. Gates and registration will open at 9 am with single eliminations for Mega Truck, Super Stock, Pro Stock, Modified and Pro Mod classes beginning at noon. Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature tried to put a damper on the last event of 2023 at Virginia Motor Speedway. Still, Mud Bog competitors and fans showed out in big numbers for the 16th annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog, presented by Breezeline and WhosYourDriver.org. The event was also sponsored by Northern Neck Chevrolet, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, Gary’s Transmission, After Hours Fabrication, Joe Hudson’s Collision Centers, Truckin Thunder, and Virginia is for Racing Lovers (VA Tourism). The enthusiastic crowd witnessed some incredible runs in the head-to-head Premier Mega Truck Racing Series mega trucks and the mud bog hill-n-hole pit. In one of the best events in history at the state-of-the-art facility, two division track records were broken in spectacular fashion. In the After Hours Fabrication Pro Mod division, the track record was broken three times at one event, all besting the old track record of 3.844 seconds held by Michael Sutphin in O.G. Highroller. First, Sutphin in O.G. High Roller lowered his own record with a pass of 3.819 seconds. Next, Donnie Miller in Black Truck broke the record with a pass of 3.789 seconds, and finally, Chris Bradshaw in Fast Money broke the record with a highlight reel pass of 3.683 seconds. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hit the trifecta this past Saturday with great weather, a huge crowd, and an overflowing pit full of competitors for the 18th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog presented by Estes Express Lines and Breezeline. With the cool weather, horsepower was at a premium, providing the fastest-ever mud bog in the eighteen-year history of the facility with six new division track records. The event was also sponsored by Northern Neck Chevrolet, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, Gary’s Transmission, and Truckin Thunder. Winners in each class: King of the Superstreet Mud Series (Super Stock A) – Brad Hall in Rampage; Super Stock B – Mike Braswell in Henry; Modified A – Blake Webb in Plan B; Modified B – Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas; Pro Mod A – Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas; Pro Mod B – Charlie Wood in Mudweiser; Unlimited Bog – Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas; Meg Truck – Gary Sabella in Old #6. Six drivers broke track records in their respective classes. Four of the records had stood since October of 2017, one from 2018, and one from 2019. The new track records that were broken belong to Brad Hall in Rampage in the Super Stock A class with a 5.268-second pass; Mike Braswell in Henry in Super Stock B with a 4.377-second pass; Blake Webb in Plan B in the Mod A Class with a 3.559-second pass; Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas broke two records the first in Mod B with a 3.770-second pass and also in Pro Mod A with a 3.869-second pass; and Charlie Wood in Mudweiser in Pro Mod B with a 3.457-second pass. 2021 MUD BOG DATES HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED

Jamaica, VA – Officials for The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway have released the 2020 mud bog dates. The 17th annual Mud Mayhem will be held on Saturday, May 1, which is two weeks earlier than in previous years. The Run-A-Muck Mud Bog will once again be on the first Saturday of October, which is October 2. The Cameras of MAVtv will be on hand to film for two Lucas Oil On The Edge shows. “After such a terrible 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are excited to be getting back to hosting mud bogs. We wanted to make sure our competitors and fans could mark their calendars for 2021 and be ready for what is going to be another great year of mud bogging,” commented track GM Clarke Sawyer. Sawyer added, “and having the cameras of MAVtv on hand will showcase our facility and brand of mud bogging to the whole country.” The divisions will remain the same Super Stock A&B, Mod A&B, Pro Mod A& B, Unlimited Bog, Unlimited X Tractor, Obstacle X, and both drag classes X-Cut and XX-Paddle. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway will once again host two spectacular mud bogs in 2017, the 10th Annual Down and Dirty Mud Mayhem on Saturday May 20th and the 13th Annual Down and Dirt Run-A-Muck Mud Bog on Saturday October 14th. Both events will be presented by James River Equipment and Commonwealth Motorsports. Jamaica, VA – Due to the forecast for Saturday May 21st officials of The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway have canceled the 9th Annual Down & Dirty Mud Mayhem presented by James River Equipment and Commonwealth Motorsports. With 100% chance of heavy rains forecast and the low pressure system sitting directly over Virginia, officials determined that for the safety of competitors and fans alike it was best to cancel the event. “Words can not describe how disappointed we are with having to cancel tomorrow’s event, the facility was prepped and ready for what we felt was going to be a record breaking day. The safety of our competitors and fans is the most important aspect of what we do here at Virginia Motor Speedway,” commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. There is no reschedule date....
