Jamaica, VA – The biggest mud bog in The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway’s history is Saturday, May 20th. To say that officials are excited and anxiously awaiting the running of the 12th Annual Mud Mayhem Mud Bog, presented by Breezeline and WhosYourDriver.org. For the first time in the Pit’s history, the Premier Mega Truck Racing Series will visit for some intense head-to-head mega truck racing action. There will also be four Hill-N-Hole divisions competing in the State’s most challenging mud pit. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com for the rules packages and payouts. The Premier Mega Trucks will be racing side-by-side in a bracket format on a new short course. Some of the biggest names in the business will be on hand to see who will become King of the Pit. This will be the second race of the season for the Premier Mega Truck Racing Series. There will once again be two divisions of Kids Power Wheels, Box Stock and Unlimited. Parents will need to register their children before 11:30 am. Gates and registration will open at 9 am for Premier Mega Truck Racing, Super Stock; Pro Stock; Modified, and Pro Mod classes, with the mud bog beginning at noon. Registration and inspection for all classes will end at 11:30 pm. Rules for each division are now available at www.thepitatvms.com. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hit the trifecta this past Saturday with great weather, a huge crowd, and an overflowing pit full of competitors for the 18th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog presented by Estes Express Lines and Breezeline. With the cool weather, horsepower was at a premium, providing the fastest-ever mud bog in the eighteen-year history of the facility with six new division track records. The event was also sponsored by Northern Neck Chevrolet, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, Gary’s Transmission, and Truckin Thunder. Winners in each class: King of the Superstreet Mud Series (Super Stock A) – Brad Hall in Rampage; Super Stock B – Mike Braswell in Henry; Modified A – Blake Webb in Plan B; Modified B – Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas; Pro Mod A – Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas; Pro Mod B – Charlie Wood in Mudweiser; Unlimited Bog – Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas; Meg Truck – Gary Sabella in Old #6. Six drivers broke track records in their respective classes. Four of the records had stood since October of 2017, one from 2018, and one from 2019. The new track records that were broken belong to Brad Hall in Rampage in the Super Stock A class with a 5.268-second pass; Mike Braswell in Henry in Super Stock B with a 4.377-second pass; Blake Webb in Plan B in the Mod A Class with a 3.559-second pass; Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas broke two records the first in Mod B with a 3.770-second pass and also in Pro Mod A with a 3.869-second pass; and Charlie Wood in Mudweiser in Pro Mod B with a 3.457-second pass. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway officials are excited to release the dates for the 2022 mud bog events. Fans are sure to want to mark their calendars for what will be another stellar year for the state-of-the-art mud bog facility in Jamaica, VA. The Pit will host two of the East Coast’s premier mud bog events. The 13th annual Mud Mayhem will be held on Saturday, May 14th, and the 18th annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog is scheduled for Saturday, October 8th, with a Saturday, October 17th rain date if needed. There will be eleven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited, with cash payouts in all 11 divisions. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com to download rules packages. The Pro Mega Truck and Obstacle X divisions will run a short course for time. Plans are to make a few changes to the course before October 8th. Jamaica, VA – A large crowd witnessed some of the best mud trucks in the region, battling the very tough 200′ pit on Saturday, October 2, 2021, during the 17th Annual Run-a-Muck Mud Bog presented by Estes Expres Lines, Atlantic Broadband, and WhosYourDriver.org, and our associate sponsors Truckin Thunder, Collision One, Atkins Propane, E & E Caulking, Virginia Tourism Department / Virginia Is For Racing Lovers, Gary’s Transmission, and After Hours Fabrication. With the cameras of MAVTV on hand to film three Lucas On the Edge shows, the event saw a record number of Pro Mega Trucks (20) all vying for the $5000 top prize. When it was all said and done Joseph Hilton, driving Live Entertainment, took home the big check. Other winners were Blake Webb, driving Plan B, who won both Super Stock A & B, which also won him the Atkins Propane King of the Hill $500 bonus. Charlie Wood, driving Mudwesier, once again dominated both the Modified A & B divisions, again taking home the $500 Atkins Propane King of the Hill bonus. Chris Carver, driving UR Mom, took home the win in the Pro Mod A division, and Kevin Cozort, driving All Geared Up, took home the win in the Pro Mod B division. Thomas Small, driving Darkhorse, made the trip from Maine a success by taking the win in the Unlimited Bog division. Joseph Hilton, driving Live Entertainment, took home the $5000 top prize in the Pro Mega Truck division and also got engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Bailey Stokes. The competitors are all ready to let it all hang out and showcase some of the best mud bogging on the East Coast in front of the cameras of MAVTV. MAVTV will be on hand to film the day’s events for up to four (4) Lucas Oil On the Edge shows. This will give our competitors a chance to show their stuff in front of a national audience. That means we need to have you the fan in attendance to show the rest of the world that mud bogging in Virginia is King. Jamaica, VA – After a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway swung open the gates for the 12th Annual Mud Mayhem Mud Bog presented by Atlantic Broadband and WhosYourDriver.org and welcomed back a great crowd and truck count this past Saturday, May 1. The event was also sponsored by Virginia is for Racing Lovers (VA Tourism), Northern Neck Chevrolet, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, Gary’s Transmission, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, and Truckin Thunder. The enthusiastic crowd witnessed some incredible runs in both the mud bog and mud sling pits. In what was one of the fastest events in the history at the state-of-the-art facility, the Kelly O’Dell Sling Pit for the mud dragsters did not disappoint as it produced multiple track records. When the day was done, three-division track records were broken in spectacular fashion. In the WhosYourDriver.org X-Cut dragster division Palmer in The Show, set a new track record with a run of 1.990 seconds, breaking a record held by the late Kelly O’Dell that was set back in 2015. Also, in the WhosYourDriver.org X-Cut division, Travis shoemaker in Highroller 4 broke his own X-Cut Injector track record with a run of 2.008 seconds. And in the Victory Lap XX-Paddle Injector dragster division Keith Mitchell in The Magician set a new track record with a run of 2.045 seconds, lowering the record set by Travis Shoemaker in 2019. Overall, 76 different competitors took turns at the state-of-the-art 200-foot pit for a total of 160 registered passes. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway will host the first of two mud bogs for the 2021 season Saturday, May 1, 2021. The 12th Annual Mud Mayhem presented by Atlantic Broadband and WhosYourDriver.org will kick off the 17th season for The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway. Additional sponsorship provided by Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, E&E Caulking, and Truckin Thunder. There will be eleven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com for the rule’s packages and payouts. Adding to the excitement, the Unlimited X Tractor and Obstacle X divisions will run a newly designed short course of which the divisions will run for time. Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200-foot Mud Bog pit, but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the region’s best Mud Dragsters covering the 200-foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. There will be two Power Wheel divisions for kids that will include a Box Stock Class for kids 6 and under and a Modified class for kids 6 and older. There is a $5.00 entry fee, and all drivers and passengers must wear helmets. In Box Stock, no modifications are allowed, vehicle must be as you got it from the store. In the modified division no gas motors are allowed; all other modifications are allowed (i.e., dual batteries, rubber grip tires, etc.). Gates and registration will open at 9 am with single eliminations for Super Stock A, B; Modified A (Small tire), B (Big Tire), Unlimited Bog, Unlimited X Tractor, Pro Modified A, Pro Modified B, and X, XX classes beginning at noon.
