13th Annual Mud Mayhem Mud Bog at The Pit Postponed Due to Weather

Jamaica, VA – With the forecast calling for rain and possible thunderstorms today and tomorrow, officials at The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway have decided to postpone the 13th Annual Mud Mayhem Mud Bog presented by Breezeline to a day to be determined. “We hate to have to postpone the mud bog, but with the amount of rain we have already had and the wet weekend forecast, we have to think of the safety of our competitors and fans,” commented General Manager Clarke Sawyer. Sawyer added, “we will look at the schedules of mud bog events in the Mid-Atlantic region and find a date that does not conflict with any of those events. Once we have a date, we will post the information on our website and social channels.” A special thanks to Breezeline TV & Internet, Estes Express Lines, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, Gary’s Transmission, Northern Neck Chevrolet, and Truckin Thunder for their support of our mud bog program. The event sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series will also feature the FASTRAK Pro Late Models in a $3000 to win feature and the Truckin Thunder Sportsman in Dirt Series Championship action. Fans are sure to want to mark their calendars for what will be another stellar year for the state-of-the-art mud bog facility in Jamaica, VA. The Pit will host two of the East Coast’s premier mud bog events. The 13th annual Mud Mayhem will be held on Saturday, May 14th, and the 18th annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog is scheduled for Saturday, October 8th, with a Saturday, October 17th rain date if needed. There will be eleven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited, with cash payouts in all 11 divisions. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com to download rules packages. The Pro Mega Truck and Obstacle X divisions will run a short course for time. Plans are to make a few changes to the course before October 8th. Additional sponsorship provided by Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, E&E Caulking, and Truckin Thunder. There will be eleven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. Adding to the excitement, the Unlimited X Tractor and Obstacle X divisions will run a newly designed short course of which the divisions will run for time. Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200-foot Mud Bog pit, but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the region’s best Mud Dragsters covering the 200-foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. There will be two Power Wheel divisions for kids that will include a Box Stock Class for kids 6 and under and a Modified class for kids 6 and older. There is a $5.00 entry fee, and all drivers and passengers must wear helmets. In Box Stock, no modifications are allowed, vehicle must be as you got it from the store. In the modified division no gas motors are allowed; all other modifications are allowed (i.e., dual batteries, rubber grip tires, etc.). Gates and registration will open at 9 am with single eliminations for Super Stock A, B; Modified A (Small tire), B (Big Tire), Unlimited Bog, Unlimited X Tractor, Pro Modified A, Pro Modified B, and X, XX classes beginning at noon. The 17th annual Mud Mayhem will be held on Saturday, May 1, which is two weeks earlier than in previous years. The Run-A-Muck Mud Bog will once again be on the first Saturday of October, which is October 2. The Cameras of MAVtv will be on hand to film for two Lucas Oil On The Edge shows. “After such a terrible 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are excited to be getting back to hosting mud bogs. We wanted to make sure our competitors and fans could mark their calendars for 2021 and be ready for what is going to be another great year of mud bogging,” commented track GM Clarke Sawyer.
